As We Return to Christian Nationalism Lets Not Repeat Past Mistakes

I agree with Pastor Joel Webbon and other Biblical Patriarchists that it appears we have a great shift in our nation back toward the natural order which is patriarchy and nationalism.

America was a Patriarchal and Christian nationalist country.

Many of the original American colonies had established state churches. These established churches included:

Connecticut: Congregational Church established by Puritans
Georgia: Church of England established
Massachusetts: Congregational Church established by Puritans
New Hampshire: Congregational Church established by Puritans
New Haven: Congregational Church established by Puritans
New York: Church of England established
North Carolina: Church of England established
Plymouth: Congregational Church established by Pilgrims
South Carolina: Church of England established
Virginia: Church of England established

Even after the Bill of Rights was passed in 1791 which included the first amendment, America still had state churches. In 1833 Massachusetts became the last state to disestablish their state church – more than 40 years after the passage of the Bill of the Rights.

But as we return to our Christian nationalist roots we must not repeat the mistakes of our ancestors who persecuted their fellow Christians over doctrinal differences.

Baptists were heavily persecute by  Congregationalists, Puritans and others.  They were jailed, beaten and sometimes killed by drowning.  Marriages performed by Baptist pastors were considered invalid in many colonies.

Surprisingly, it was the Catholics of Maryland who passed the first religious freedom act in 1649 that kept Baptists in their area from being persecuted.  Perhaps it was because Catholics themselves were so badly persecuted as well by other Protestants in the colonies.

It was the Baptists more than any other Christian denomination that pushed for religious freedom in America because of what they had endured at the hands of other Christians in the colonies and Baptists would go on to become the largest Protestant denomination in America.

So as long as we have freedom for various Christian denominations including allowing differences about baptism and church structure while still holding to core Christian doctrines like the Trinity and the Gospel I definitely believe Christian Nationalism can work far better than the secularist mess we find ourselves in today.

One response to “As We Return to Christian Nationalism Lets Not Repeat Past Mistakes”

  1. I would add that, not only do we need a return to nationalism and patriarchy, but we also need a return to patriarchal monarchy, for it is the biblical pattern. I would not say republics are necessarily sinful depending on the people you have, but I would say they are rather unstable, and almost impossible to maintain long term. A nation led by a king under Christ seems to be the biblical pattern, and history confirms it is the most stable form of government.
