The behaviors involved in BDSM are not new. They are seen in ancient images and are known around the world. I have stated on several occasions in my blog articles and in my podcasts that I believe BDSM perverts biblical principles of marriage and sexuality and I still stand by those statements. However, I do not believe ALL aspects of BDSM are a perversion of God’s design for sex in marriage. Some elements of BDSM, if practiced within proper gender roles in marriage, can be good and healthy in a Christian marriage.

BDSM includes six core behaviors which include sexual domination, sexual submission, sexual bondage, sexual discipline, sexual sadism and sexual masochism.
