This video is the first part of a larger series I will be doing responding to this video by Rachel Oats:
In the video above Rachel Oates is taking on my recent article “Why God Wants You To Stay In An Abusive Relationship” from her atheist and secular humanist perspective. She has a lot of statements that I want to address from a Christian perspective.
My goal in responding to her is to equip Bible believing Christians with answers to the assertions she makes as well as plant questions in the minds of non-Christians viewing this.
Also you can find the mp3 audio version of my video response in my audio section here.
Yes! A book, the Bible, written thousands of years ago is a better source to of truth and ethics than Rachel or any other creature. .
It is the Word that discerns our thoughts and not our thoughts on the Word that matter!
But absent the illuminating work of the Holy Spirit Rachel cannot discern the Word.
Sadly Rachel is dead in her deception in desperate need for Christ to redeem her and lead her to repentance. She rejects the one that was abused for His elect and so cannot fathom following His example.
BGR- you tube video provided some helpful observations concerning the societal shift from the primacy of duty and family to individual feelings and pleasures. Toxic romance culture fuels the epidemic of fornication, which drives abortion, marital dissatisfaction which contributes to both abuse and divorce the later of which directly corresponds to fatherlessness which in turn thwarts the development of masculinity in boys including a sense of duty all the while belittling and despising it in men. All of which gives cause for the populace to demand more and bigger government to perform the duty that belonged to the household. Ben Franklin once quipped, “either you will be ruled by God or by-god you will be ruled”. Family and duty was our best defense against totalitarianism, but now as the foundations are destroyed what can the righteous do? I suggest get to work rebuilding the foundations making sure they are built upon the Rock!
